Rockin' Roxi

Hey!

Happy Thursday all!! At the Sassy Studio Designs blog is a new DTBST challenge. This week it's themed "Make it Shiny".

I got to play with a discontinued image called "Rockin' Roxi". She is colored with Promarkers. I made the card into a guitar shape to fit the image and like how it turned out. I distressed the edges and adhered a piece of metal ribbon to the side of the card.

Easter Bunny

Hey!

Here's an egg card I made using a discontinued SSD image called "Easter Bunny". Isn't she cute?

The image is colored with Promarkers and I made a card in an egg shape by using an oval die cut and cutting the bottom freehand till it formed an egg shape. I created a little scene with a couple of dies (fence, birdhouse, 2 kinds of grass, bird and a doily) I used walnut stain distress ink along the edges of the die cuts.

Space Princes Honey

Hey!

This week Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring The Space Race Challenge at Fab 'n Funky. Feel free to join for a chance to win 4 SSD images.

I made a tag (10x15cm) using "Space Princess Honey" and colored her with Promarkers. I found a background of a photo from a Star Wars scene with Princess Leia and have cut it to size to fit this image. Love the shapes in the background and I knew I had an embossing folder with similar shapes and used some white ink to accent the shapes. I cut the Happy Birthday (Joy Crafts) border die cut in half and adhered it along the sides of the image. The ribbon on the bottom is metallic like I had to use. On top I added stretchy lace.

My Fair Lady

Hey!

Today is a new Flashback Friday at Sassy Studio Designs featuring My Fair Lady. She will be a freebie on the SSD Facebook Fan Page voor 24 hours only.

I colored this beauty using a fineliner for all the small black parts and the rest of the image is colored with cool grey (for the white parts), black, ice grey 5 & 3, pinks, browns and skin tones.
Had decided to make a tag. They always come in handy. The tag is made from black leather look cardstock. Used products; white gelpen, white vinyl lace, black and white tape, filmstrip die cut, crocheted flower, gem, made a little pin, and white feathers. I love how it turned out.

Martini Sassy

Hey!

Happy Friday to you all. Today it's Flash Back Friday at Sassy Studio Designs. This image is our freebie today and will be available in our Facebook Fan Group for 24-hours.

The image is called "Martini Sassy" and I colored it with Spectrum Noir and Promarkers. For the skin tones I found a great color combo with my Promarkers, so I will stay at that for the moment. Just started playing with my Spectrum Noir markers so still searching for the right colors. But it's fun playing with them.

Candy Cane the Elf

Happy Thursday! Today starts a new DTBST challenge over at Sassy Studio Designs. It's themed "Traditional Christmas Colors". I hope you'll join in the fun as most of us are still busy making Christmas cards/Tags.

I made a tag using "Candy Cane the Elf" and colored her with Promarkers. The tag is made out of kraft cardstock and I used a bit of white ink around the edges. Added 2 Christmas trees, 2 pieces of ribbon, red lace, jingle bells and a sentiment to create it. A beautiful tag always makes a gift more special.

SSD December Release Blog Hop

Happy Saturday and welcome to Sassy Studio Designs' December Release Blog Hop. Hope you enjoy the hop so far. Lindsay made some fab new images.

If you came from my Sassy Sister Sara's Blog you are in the right place. If not, I advise you to go back to the SSD Blog and start the hop from there so you won't miss out on anything.

Here's my easel card using "Yoda" and colored him with Promarkers. I made 2 borders with the Star Wars font to match. I love Star Wars and I think Yoda is a great character. He talks funny. I found the awesome background on the internet. And of coarse the sentiment is one of Yoda himself.

There will be a Party Chat on Dec. 12th from 6 - 8 pm PST. Time Zone Converter I won't be participating as it's the middle of the night in my time zone.

Bottle Tag

Hey!

It's Thursday and that means a new Dare to be Sassy Thursday challenge at Sassy Studio Designs.
This week it's themed "Anything but a Card".

I made a bottle tag using a discontinued image called "Little Honey's France" and cropped her. She's colored with Promarkers. I started out with a blue strip of cardstock. Folded it over by 1/3 and punch a whole in the smallest part with a circle punch (1 3/8"). I used a piece of script digi paper by Michele R Designs from the Vintage paper pack. Other items used Vintage Flourish die cut, Doily border die cut, Viewmaster die cut, Butterfly die cut, circle and scalloped circle die cut, piece of lace, and a Doily border punch.

Bubble Gum Sassy

Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring an Anything Goes 4 Kids challenge at Send a Smile 4 Kids.

I decided to make a birthday card in a flower shape using Bubble Gum Sassy and colored her with Promarkers. All the edges are distressed with Walnut Stain distress ink. I used a circle and a scalloped circle nestabilities, a tickets die from Couture Creations (CO723532) and a Memory Box Butterfly Vine Border die. The sentiment is from a Dutch brand and it's made out of corc. To finish the card I adhered a few punched out butterflies and gems.

Snowman Pinup Sassy

Today Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring two challenges, The Outlaws Challenges and Suzy Bee's Bloomin' Challenge.

I used Snowman Pinup Sassy and I cropped and colored her with Promarkers. I used a lovely digi background paper by Michele R Designs from a paper pack called Vintage Teal Frost. I embossed a piece of dark blue linen cardstock and inked the raised snowflakes with frost white color box pigment ink. The sentiment is from my stash and in the middle I adhered a little punched out star. The snowflakes are also punch outs.

Flashback Friday - Wanda

Hey!

It's Friday and that means a new Flashback Friday at the Sassy Studio Designs blog.
This week this gorgeous retired image called "Wanda" is featured and she will be available in the SSD shop with a huge discount. So if you want her, now is your chance before she disappears from the shop again.

I colored the image with Promarkers and I found a gorgeous photo on the internet that made a perfect background. The cardbase is made out of white linen cardstock and I used scraps of purple and black cardstock as a big mat on top of the card. Underneath the image I added e piece of lime cardstock. Love that bright color. The die cuts are from Joy Crafts and I used a Dymo Label Tag and glitter letter stickers for the sentiment. To finish the card I added 2 big lilac gemstones.

Flashback Friday - Candy Apple Candace

Happy Friday! Welcome to a new Sassy Studio Designs FBF. This week it's Candy Apple Candace. She is available in the SSD shop with a discount.

I colored the image with Promarkers and added glossy accents to the little candy apple in her hand. I made the apple using my Cameo. The apple is a SVG file from MWLW and I created a caramel layer myself. I distressed the edges with walnut stain distress ink added a popsicle stick and some bakers twine to finish it.

Sweet as Holiday Pie

Hey!

It's Thursday and that means a new DTBST challenge at Sassy Studio Designs. This week it's themed "Have a Banner Day".

I got to play with "Sweet as Holiday Pie" and I colored her with Promarkers. I gave her a little gem ear ring that is almost the same color as her dress. The sentiment and the banner are from Joy Crafts. The doily is one I got at a restaurant. Lol... Always take those home. I used 2 water balloons that I got from my son. The lacy is vinyl and the background paper is from a Dutch brand.

After Dark

 Hey!

It's Thursday and that means a new DTBST challenge at Sassy Studio Designs. For this week the challenge is themed "After Dark" (Create a project that is dark, yet sassy).

I created a card using the image called Wicked Frame (discontinued) and colored her with Promarkers. The card base is made out of white linen cardstock. And I used a embossing folder to create a background. The piece of circle cardstock is black pearle, it has a nice shimmer, is embossed with a spider web embossing folder. I used black and white ink to show the embossing bits. The witches hat and spiders are Quickutz die cuts.

Gone to the Theater

Hey!

It's Thursday and that means a new Dare To Be Sassy Thursday challenge at Sassy Studio Designs. This weeks theme is Gone to the Theater, create a project using your favorite movie/play/tv show.

I have choosen Belle Pin Up and I cropped her. She's colored with Promarkers and I added glitter gel pen to the hair band and ear ring. On her dress I addhered a little yellow gem. The big rose is an Aurelie die cut (AUCD1002). I have cut the flower 3 times to create a 3D effect. The Dutch seniment is from Joy Crafts.
I always loved the first Beauty and the Beast series back in  1987. Later on in 1991 Disney created the animation based on a traditional fairy tale written by French novelist Jeanne-Marie Leprince de Beaumont and published in 1756. I have seen that film many times because of the kids in my family. Every time I watched with them. A few years back I went to the Dutch musical in the theater and now I follow the new Beauty and the Beast series on TV. And of coarse I watch the Once Upon a Time series and can't wait for season 5 to start. So I can Beaty and the Beast applies to the challenge beautifully.

Well now it's time for you to make a lovely project following the theme. You don't have to use a SSD image, but if you do you can enter the challenge twice.

Masculine card

Hey!

Sassy Studio Designs is sponsoring the new challenge at Cards und More. It's themed Cards for Men. I know is harder to make a card for men. Kraft and plaid work well for men's cards I guess.

I made this card using Buttercream Babe - Sassy Cake. She is colored with Promarkers.
The card base is Kraft cardstock, I matted it with a lovely plaid paper, on top of that I used corrugated cardstock from a package of cookies and on top of that I adhered a piece of scrap paper with a script pattern. The Happy Birthday border is from Joy Crafts.
